Digital club project develops into global cultural platform; streaming realised by G&L GmbH and AWS
On 18 March 2020, the project "United We Stream" started, which has developed from a successful streaming initiative and fundraising campaign for Berlin clubs to a global cultural platform within a very short time. Live streams from club locations around the world, including live DJ sets, have since been provided via "United We Stream" and media partner ARTE Concert – realised by G&L GmbH with the help of proven AWS services such as AWS Elemental Live, Elemental Delta, Elemental Conductor and AWS S3 (see also info box).
One year after the launch of the digital club project, "United We Stream" already gave over 2000 artists a stage and showed streams from almost 450 locations in about 100 cities worldwide. And the pandemic is still preventing live concerts and events. So "United We Stream" continues: On 18 March 2021, the platform and media partner ARTE will offer a large live programme of interviews, snippets, reviews and, of course, DJ sets. The concerts will still be available on demand afterwards.
