G&L Systemhaus is once again a sponsor of the Fraunhofer FOKUS Media Web Symposium, one of the most important gathering points for experts in streaming, broadcast, and media technology.
G&L builds streaming infrastructures that are reliable, scalable and, where it matters, sovereign, from source to player, on-prem, in the cloud or hybrid. Two topics are particularly close to our hearts:
German sign language for your videos
Together with our partner Signapse, we integrate AI-powered sign language into live and on-demand workflows. The photorealistic "Digital Signer" is already available for British (BSL) and American (ASL) Sign Language, with Deutsche Gebärdensprache (DGS) following this autumn. Learn more
Understanding speech, not just transcribing it
Words alone only tell half the story. Standard speech recognition misses what gives language its full meaning: stress, intonation, pace and pause. G&L develops AI-powered transcription pipelines that capture these prosodic features, resulting in higher-quality subtitles and richer, more expressive sign language output.

"From Voice to Subtitle to Sign Language for Live & On-Demand"
As part of the "Virtual Worlds" workshop
16 June 2026, 1:30pm - 6pm
(c) by Paul Hahn/Fraunhofer
Workshop language: English
Topic: Making live and on-demand streams accessible to sign language users requires more than adding a purely synthetic avatar. This session walks through a complete, deployable end-to-end pipeline: spoken audio goes in, photorealistic sign language comes out.
Alexander Leschinsky will explain how G&L combines automatic speech recognition, LLM-assisted transcription, and the AI-powered Digital Signer technology developed by Signapse to deliver real-time and on-demand sign language output integrated directly into a streaming workflow. The session includes a live interactive demo in which attendees can observe the full chain in action: voice to subtitle to sign language.
