>>> We are proudly sponsoring our first DASH-IF Networking event at IBC this year

We're pleased to announce our new membership in the DASH Industry Forum (DASH-IF), dedicated to advancing the DASH streaming format.

Joining this forum as a contributing member and participating in the DASH-IF working groups allows us to keep our finger on the pulse of the latest developments in the DASH world. We can furthermore actively shape the future of DASH, ensuring it aligns with the needs and preferences of our customers and the entire industry.

"We're committed to providing our customers with state-of-the-art streaming capabilities, including next generation multi-purpose and multi-language audio selection, High Dynamic Range (HDR), and multi-codec adaptation. Within the scope of DASH-IF, we will focus on dynamic CDN switching with Content Steering, including interoperability with HLS," notes Martin Schmalohr, Head of Streaming Engineering at G&L.

Collaboration and Exchange of Knowledge

The DASH-IF serves as an excellent platform for collaborating and sharing knowledge with other esteemed industry veterans and pioneers. By working together, we can drive advancements in DASH even further, ensuring customers experience the best possible video quality and reduced buffering. Standardizing DASH implementations enhances interoperability and forms the foundation for smooth distribution of video content across various devices and platforms – and thereby enables the maximization of reach and viewership.
